Chautauqua Summer Parking

From the City of Boulder…

City of Boulder to begin temporary, free transit and parking changes at Chautauqua

Starting on Saturday, June 3, the City of Boulder will begin a pilot parking program in the Chautauqua and Ranger Cottage areas. This summer program will run on Saturdays and Sundays only from Saturday, June 3, through Sunday, Aug. 27. It will include a free shuttle to Chautauqua and paid parking in designated locations, including the Ranger Cottage parking lot.

The free Park to Park shuttle will:

  • Connect Chautauqua with free weekend parking locations at CU Regent, New Vista High School and downtown Boulder parking structures (on Saturdays and Sundays).
  • Run every 15 minutes from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays from June 3 through Aug. 27.
  • Welcome dogs and outdoor equipment on board.

Visit www.ParktoPark.org for more information on designated pick-up and drop-off locations.

If visitors choose not to use the free shuttle service, paid parking ($2.50/hr) is available in designated areas in the Ranger Cottage lot and the Chautauqua area. Visitors can pay for parking at five pay stations near Baseline and Ninth Street or by downloading the city’s ParkMobile app. All visitors, including those whose cars are registered in Boulder County, must pay for parking on Saturdays and Sundays from June 3 through Aug. 27. OSMP daily and annual parking permits for other OSMP trailheads are not valid in designated Chautauqua locations during this summer program.

This pilot program, which city staff have been developing for over a year with the help of community members, boards and Boulder City Council, will end on Sunday, Aug. 27. With this summer effort, the city wants to deliver a more enjoyable experience for Chautauqua visitors while reducing vehicular and parking impacts on neighbors and the area’s natural and cultural resources. City staff will incorporate findings from this summer program into a long-term transportation access management plan for the Chautauqua area.
