Elevate Your Evening: Join us at the 6th Annual BCC Soirée in Boulder's Rembrandt Yard. Dress to impress and indulge in gourmet bites from Savory Cuisines and beverages from Curation cocktails, Hazel’s, Rick Thompson Wine, and Avery Brewing. Network with fellow climbers, bid on unique items at our silent auction, and support BCC's vital stewardship work. Unforgettable experiences and premier climbing gear await. Starting with the Soirée and ending on December 31st, we will raise over $100,000 to refuel our bank account to continue stewarding the Front Range through our programs: Trail Program, Anchor Replacement Program (ARP), human waste mitigation through wag bags stations and education, Front Range Climber advocacy, and eagle and raptor monitoring.
The Soirée stands as a yearly occasion that unites us in celebrating the remarkable community that collectively nurtures and preserves Front Range climbing crags, establishing them as the best cared for in the country.
On the evening of Thursday, November 9th we will be celebrating the highlights of 2023:
Worked on climbing access projects at the Dome and Avalon in Boulder Canyon as well as the new Saddle Rock Trail in the Flatirons
1,903 staff hours dedicated to building sustainable climbing access trails
Over 950 bolts were replaced along the Front Range by mid-September!
Over 2,500 volunteer hours have gone into building trails, updating fixed hardware, stocking wag bag dispensers, and monitoring raptors in Boulder Canyon and Rocky Mountain National Park
Successful fledging of one Golden Eagle in Boulder Canyon
Removed graffiti at the Darkside Boulders in Morrison, Flagstaff boulders, and Boulder Canyon

OUR 2023 AWARDEES
The Steward: Elizabeth Flournoy
Criteria: A volunteer who has gone above and beyond for the climbing community. Enthusiastically dedicates time and energy to the BCC.
In 2023, Elizabeth went from a new rebolter to an integral part of the ARP, mentoring new volunteers, teaching clinics, and supporting the program in many ways.
The Champion: The Spot Climbing Gym
Criteria: A supporter who has been a tireless advocate for the Boulder Climbing Community. A community influencer and donor.
The Spot has gone above and beyond to support the BCC. This year they organized a dedicated BCC awareness month and replicated a BCC rebolted route, Strange Science, at their Louisville location.
Annually all their events benefit a nonprofit partner, often us. They have been committed supporters for the past 8-years.
The Pioneer: Alan Prehmus
Criteria: Someone who has meaningfully contributed to climbing history in and around the Front Range. A mentor and leader.
Alan has been a contributor to front-range climbing for over a decade, developing some of the most popular front-range moderates and multi-pitch climbs including Black Gold in Clear Creek. Over the last several years, Alan has become a champion of inclusivity in climbing, recruiting and mentoring under-represented climbers, and creating opportunities for them to engage in route development. Alan is an avid volunteer, mentor, steward, and developer, who has gone to great lengths to ensure everyone has a place in the climbing community.
Alan also developed the Classroom at Staunton alongside BIPOC developers, mentoring them along the way. The purpose of the Schoolyard is to be a place of education for new climbers. We love that!
