Climbers taking the lead on stewardship: Safe Bolts, Sustainable Trails, Crags, and COMMUNITY
The mission of the BCC is to mobilize the local community and partners to care for the environments we impact as climbers and enrich the outdoor experience for all.
The BCC is a local climbing organization working every day to protect and preserve climbing areas on Colorado's Front Range and beyond. Our stewardship programs include trail building, anchor replacement, waste management, and more.
Our work takes us from Staunton to Rocky Mountain National Park.
Stewardship Programs
BCC Trail Crew
Our professional trail building crew works with individuals and group volunteers to create sustainable access and staging areas at our most popular climbing areas.
Bolt Replacement
Our anchor replacement program helps keep Colorado climbing areas safe and accessible, from premier sport crags to classic alpine walls. We’ve replaced 1000s of bolts, averaging over 1000 a year!
Waste Management
Our thirteen "poop bag" stations and portapotties were placed at strategic locations to reduce climbers’ impact and keep tons of human waste out of fragile watersheds.

Climbing Closures
Please respect closures! Throughout the year climbing areas are closed for many reasons, and staying away when land managers ask is important to preserve positive relationships.
The 2024 stewardship season is here! We’ve got a busy schedule of trail building, bolt replacement, raptor monitoring, events, and more!
